About me
I am a musician, composer and lyricist. I come from the small village Uličské Krivé in the northeastern part of Slovak Republic at the Polish and Ukrainian borders. The region is known for its virgin and mysterious beauty of the Poloniny National Park (the name of the park derives from word „poloniny“ which means flowery mountain meadows) and as a home of Rusnaks or Rusyns, also known as Carpatho-Rusyns (an East Slavic ethnic group from the Eastern Carpathians in Central Europe).
I have been involved in music since childhood. I completed music education at primary art school with a focus on playing the piano. At the same time, as a self-taught person, I also got to know how to play the guitar, bass guitar and drums. Between 2001 and 2002, I met an original and versatile Slovak artist Janko Melkovič, predominantly known as a primary musician, actor and composer of the Radošina naive theatre. I became his student for a short time and was lucky enough to be initiated by him into the secrets of musical composition.
Since 2002 I have been member of several Bratislava’s club music bands, and since 2018 I have been playing an electronic keyboard in the rock band running by singer Paľo Drapák.
In my musical work, I do not focus on just one musical genre and style, but I try to compose songs in which can be noticed elements of pop-rock, funk or jazz, but also folklore harmonies. I write song lyrics in Slovak and Ruthenian.
My effort is to reveal unique moments in seemingly mundane everyday life and preserve them in a song.
My work
I create for joy, but in the hope that not only for mine. It will be the rarest award for me if my songs touch your heart. And the biggest support for my work will be if you sing my songs in the car (of course, you need to know or learn Ruthenian and Slovak languages 🙂 ), tell your friends about them, request them on your favourite radio or simply just enjoy the music.
